Class Descriptions

 

(Please speak with the office staff about correct level placements for yourself or your child. Students will most likely be asked to take a placement class in order to determine this.)

 

Ballet

Early Dance Division – Focuses on rhythm, coordination, creativity and discipline

  • Creative Movement (45min) This class is a combination class of ballet and tap.
  • Pre-Ballet(45min) This class is a combination class of ballet and either tap or jazz (every other week). Students do not need jazz shoes but tap shoes are needed.
  • Beginning Ballet 1 (1hr) Students will mainly focus on ballet, with the last 15 mins devoted to beginner jazz technique.
  • Beginning Ballet 2 (1hr) Students will focus on ballet technique fundamentals.

Young Division – Focuses on proper body placement, vocabulary, and strengthening

  • Level 1  (1hr)
  • Level 2  (1hr 15min)

Intermediate Division – Builds on the basic fundamentals and incorporates new vocabulary and steps. Students work on strengthening leg and feet muscles for pointe work.

  • Level 3  (1hr 15min)
  • Level 4  (1hr 15min / 1hr 30mins)

Pre-Professional Division – Focuses on musicality, personality, and artistry as well as continuing to strengthen technique

  • Level 5 (1hr 15min / 1hr 30mins)

Jazz

Level 1  (45min)

Modern

Dance for Musical Theater  (workshops)

Dance for musical theater will include fundamentals of technique for dance and the stage. Emphasizing versatility in movement and performance skills, we will explore a variety of musical theater choreography from Broadway musicals and dive in to dance and theater improvisation.

Adult

Adult Ballet (1hr)

Adult Tap (1hr)

*No age minimum or maximum and no prior experience is necessary. Adult classes are open classes and can be attended at a person’s leisure. However, technique is built upon throughout the year so it is advised that if the student would like to develop skill that they attend regularly.
